Privacy Policy — Curfew: App & Site Blocker

Last updated: 1 August 2026.

Curfew blocks apps and websites for a period you choose. To do that it needs to know what to block — so the most important thing in this policy is what happens to that information.

Your Screen Time data never leaves your device

Curfew uses Apple's Screen Time API (Family Controls, Managed Settings and Device Activity). Everything it does with that data happens on your iPhone or iPad. We operate no server that receives it, and there is nothing for us to sell, share or leak.

We cannot see which apps you block — by design

When you choose apps to block, Apple hands Curfew an opaque token, not a name. The system understands it; the app does not. This is an architectural guarantee from Apple, not a promise from us: Curfew is technically incapable of knowing which apps or websites you selected, and can only count how many. Neither we nor anyone else can extract that list from the app, because the app never holds it.

The same applies to your usage statistics. Where Curfew shows how long you spent in an app, that reading is produced and displayed inside a sandbox Apple provides for exactly this purpose, and the numbers cannot be read back out by us.

What we do collect

Anonymous usage analytics: a random install identifier and in-app events — which screens are opened, whether a session was started or completed, whether a purchase screen was shown. This tells us whether the app works, and nothing about you.

It contains no app or website names, no Screen Time data, no names, no email address (unless you write to us), no location, and no advertising identifiers. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking SDKs, and we never sell or share data with advertisers.

If you send feedback or a feature suggestion, we receive the text you typed, so please don't put anything private in it.

Turning analytics off

Analytics can be switched off in the app's Settings. The app works exactly the same either way.

Children

Curfew is not directed at children and collects no personal data from anyone, including children.

This website

To see which pages are useful, this website counts visits with our own anonymous statistics: the page viewed, which outgoing links are clicked (such as the App Store), the site you came from, your browser's language and time zone (used to estimate the country), screen size and device type. A random identifier kept in your browser's local storage tells a new visit from a returning one. No cookies are set, no IP address is stored, and nothing is shared with third parties or used for advertising. Clearing this site's data in your browser removes the identifier.
